Todd McNabb Memorial Scholarship
The Team at Boyer Chevrolet Buick GMC is honored to support the Todd McNabb Memorial Scholarship. Our own Jim VanDusen is a member of the Selection Committee as a Business Community Representative. Jim and Todd worked for many years together at GMAC and were very good friends. Jim is proud to share in this great opportunity to continue Todd’s legacy.
Todd McNabb was a well-regarded and respected leader within the automotive finance industry in Canada, at both GMAC and TD Bank. His leadership in business was paralleled equally within the Ajax minor hockey community. Todd had a passion for minor hockey and he strongly believed in the power of team sports, especially hockey, to help build character and create lifelong friendships. Todd grew up playing competitive hockey in Oshawa, and is proof of the positive impact of hockey, as many of his closest friendships were formed through his hockey experience – both his own and later on, coaching his son’s teams.
The Todd McNabb Memorial Scholarship was established in 2014 when Todd passed away after his courageous battle with cancer. When the qualifications are successfully met, three $1,000 scholarships will be awarded each summer. To qualify, applicants must be graduating from high school in Ajax or Pickering and entering the first year of a post secondary education program in the same calendar year. Applicants must have participated in minor hockey within the Ajax or Pickering community (i.e. Ajax Knights, Pickering Panthers, Ajax-Pickering Raiders, Durham Lightning) for a minimum of three seasons. Applicants must also demonstrate engagement in extracurricular activities and active community involvement.
Congratulations to Craig Rushton and Avery Pasternak! The recipients of the Todd McNabb Scholarship in 2016! A $1,000 donation was also made to “Their Opportunity” in June 2016 to further support youth hockey programs in Ajax and Pickering.

Todd Douglas McNabb was a Colleague, Coach, Mentor, Friend, Nephew, Cousin, Uncle, Brother-in-law, Brother, Son-in-law, Son, Husband and Father. His greatest legacy is being an incredible husband to Rhondda and a loving, supportive father to Cody and Curtis.
A truly great man who will never be forgotten! Nabber – we will always remember you fondly!
