Ajax’s first ever Caribbean Week

Ajax Durham Caribbean Festival at VanDusen

Last week was an exciting week in Ajax. The mayor of Ajax Steve Parish and Council proclaimed the week to be Ajax’s first ever Caribbean week! There were various events held throughout the week leading up to the Durham Caribbean Festival held in Ajax at the Greenwood Conservation Area on Sunday June 29th.

At Boyer Chevrolet Buick GMC we were proud to be a sponsor and participate!

At our location at 425 Bayly on the corner of Westney and Bayly we have a pre-Party BBQ to help bring attention to the week and celebrate the strength of multiculturalism and diversity in our town.

We had Rob Thomas owner of the local Red Snapper restaurant cooking up various jerk foods, rice and peas, plantain, Caribbean salad and more. Delicious!

The Sandy Gamma Creole Band played live music interspersed with music from DJ Jason Williams. Lively!

Cyndi Peterson the owner of the local dance and exercise group – JaminFit – was on hand with her team and had us all dancing and moving to the beats of Caribbean tunes! It was quite the show!

Over 200 people came by and a lot of fun was had by all!
