Parts Department Manager

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Monitors the parts inventory and anticipates parts needs in light of future promotions, new model years, trends, and suggested stock orders.
  • Is responsible for the security of inventory and for analyzing the quality of parts.
  • Works with retail and wholesale customers in considering credit applications, handling complaints, and negotiating prices to ensure customer enthusiasm.
  • Is responsible for profit management in the Parts Department and must examine department financial statements, including expenses and revenue, to ensure the department’s profitability.
  • In cooperation with the dealership’s management team, must review the previous month’s sales/profit performance to determine where improvements can be made.
  • Must time inventory purchases to coincide with sales & special incentives in order to take advantage of savings.
  • Is responsible for training and leading the Parts Department team and reviewing team performance on a regular basis, according to dealership policy.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Ability to establish and maintain good relationships with customers and to exceed their expectations
  • Ability to maintain proper parts inventory levels, to do proper posting, and to measure true turns
  • Ability to utilize computers and computer capabilities for inventory, recordkeeping, parts information, etc.
  • Knowledge of automotive systems in general
  • Ability to develop & follow action plans to ensure customer enthusiasm & Parts Department profitability
  • Ability to lead and train team members in Parts Department operations
  • Ability to establish and control inventory system
  • Knowledge of and ability to interpret inventory reports

New Vehicles Sales Manager

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Creates and maintains the image of the dealership through advertising and is a prominent presence within the dealership, interacting continually with sales team members and customers.
  • Is responsible for accurately planning and forecasting sales, developing annual sales goals for the dealership as part of an annual business plan, and constantly monitoring the dealership’s sales in relation to the plan, revising the plan when appropriate.
  • Is responsible for hiring and developing sales team members in the dealership and ensuring customer enthusiasm.
  • Helps to complete sales, balancing the needs of customers, Sales Consultants, and the dealership.
  • Is responsible for training, developing, and motivating sales team members and serves as a role model.
  • Must know all of the variables that will affect the business plan, including supply, demand, profit, competition, promotion, pricing, manufacturing issues, insurance rates, and finance rates.
  • Must be able to take measures to compensate for the unexpected.
  • Controls the inventory of used vehicles in the dealership, working closely with the Office Manager/Controller.
  • Is responsible for appraising and evaluating the retail potential of vehicles, which requires being attuned to the resale market both in the area and nationally.
  • Must determine which traded vehicles will be reconditioned and sold and which will be wholesaled.
  • Must ensure that traded vehicles are serviced, cleaned, and returned to stock and that the lot is not only neat and presentable but also appropriately displays the inventory.

Responsibilities and Duties

·   Perform general vehicle mechanical repairs

·   Ability to overhaul transmission would be an asset

·   Replace cylinder heads, timing belts or chains

·   Replace steering gears / rack and pinions

·   Replace struts, shocks, control arms and steering linkage

·   Diagnose check engine lights, ABS lights, etc.

·   Ability to read wiring diagrams

·   Replace exhaust systems

·   Replace complete brake systems

·   Diagnose emission control items

·   Perform A/C system repairs an asset.

·   Write inspection reports

·   Perform Safety inspections

·   Perform recall services

Qualifications and Skills

Primary responsibility is to perform lube, oil and filter services and Quick Multi point inspections. You will also be responsible for inspecting the status of air filters, tires and break fluids.
